Closed in observance of Independence Day

The District office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence Day.

If you have urgent business with the district on this day, please call the main number at 303-979-2333. The on-call staff person will respond to your request as soon as possible.

Waterton Canyon Reopen to the Public on Weekdays Only

After being closed for three months, Waterton Canyon is now open to the public on weekdays only. This is the first phase of the reopening. The canyon remains closed on the weekends until further notice.

The canyon will follow normal operating hours during the week, opening a half hour before sunrise and closing a half hour after sunset, and will remain closed on weekends.

Tips to Follow to Keep Grilling Safe this Summer

Summertime is grill time! Especially for celebrations and holidays. With Father’s Day coming up this weekend and the Fourth of July around the corner, the District would like to remind you to practice safe grilling.

Following the safety tips below will keep you from getting burned this grilling season!

Grill outside and away from any structures

Charcoal and gas grills are designed for outdoor use only. Keep your grill at least 10 feet from your home while in use.

New Employees

David Williams

The District is pleased to announce the recent hiring of David Williams (pictured above on the right). David was hired in February as a water distribution and wastewater collection system operator. Prior to working for the District, he worked for the City and County of Denver and Denver Water, where he performed much of the same work he is doing at the District.

Following the summer watering rules is the right thing to do in our dry climate and helps preserve reservoir levels, reducing the risk of water restrictions in the future. The watering rules incorporate best practices for efficient outdoor water use that will help keep your landscape healthy.

For more than 40 years, American Water Works Association (AWWA) and its members have celebrated Drinking Water Week, a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to join together in recognizing the vital role water plays in daily lives.

District Operating During COVID-19 Pandemic

During this time, the District remains committed to providing our residents with safe, reliable water distribution and wastewater collection services while preserving public health and the health and safety of our staff.

The District continues to fully operate under CDC guidelines and Governor Polis’ executive "Stay-at-Home Order" . District operators continue to work in the field maintaining and repairing district infrastructure while practicing social distancing and wearing protective face masks. We ask that you do not approach any of our field staff at this time.
