Splashstreet's back — and they’ve got a message for your sprinkler system.

Denver Water’s resident boy band, the Splashstreet Boys, just dropped their latest hit: “Water Tuesday (Splashstreet’s Back)” — a catchy new single and music video reminding outdoor water users to switch their irrigation timers from Mondays and Wednesdays to Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Why the change? Most sprinkler systems are set by default to run early on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. When everyone waters at the same time, it creates extreme demand spikes that strain Denver Water’s treatment plants, pump stations, and storage tanks. This not only drives up energy costs but could eventually force the utility to invest in expensive infrastructure upgrades.

The new Splashstreet Boys single is a playful parody of the Backstreet Boys’ iconic 1997 hit, “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” The original music video — with over 600 million views on YouTube — features a Thriller-inspired plot where the boy band transforms into classic monsters and dances through a haunted mansion after their tour bus breaks down. Denver Water’s version trades the mansion for a backyard, and while the choreography is toned down, the costumes are still a star of the show.

The group reunited to create this follow-up to their 2024 hit “I Water That Way,” which delivered broader water-saving tips like avoiding irrigation during rain or in the heat of the day, when water evaporates quickly.
